Literature pertinent to the present status of papaya (Carica papaya L.) propagationis reviewed with the goal of providing an in-depth analysis of current research problems.
Previous and recent procedures developed for propagation of papaya including sexual and asexual methods were highlighted.
Particular attention has been given to tissue culture techniques.
Relative problems and limitations of each technique are identified and used as pointers to the need for further research in the near future
