Abstract EN

This research paper aims at studying the Grand Mosque (Al-Haram Al-Sharif) in Makkah Al-Mokarramah from the time of king Abdulaziz until the enlargement of the Mosque during the reign of the late custodian of the tow holy Mosques King Fahad Ibn Abdulaziz.

I started with the history of the Ka'abah building and the differing views of the historians regarding that matter.

Since Allah (Azza wa Jall) ordered prophet Ibrahim and his son Isma'il to purify the house of God from idols.

The topic also discusses the Ka'abah during the pre- Islamic era (Al-Asr Al-Jahili) and the location of Makkah, its geography, climate, and its suitability for human settlement, its boundaries, its names in the holy Qur'an, its architecture before Islam, and the reasons behind the rebuilding of the Ka'abah.

The enlargement of the Makkah Holy Haram of Late Custodian of the tow holy Mosques king Fahad ibn Abdulaziz is of great importance because of its scope.

It’s the largest expansion of the Makkah Haram ever built, in the history of holy Makkah.

The aim of this paper is to highlight the gigantic efforts made by the Saudi Arabian Government to enlarge and expand the holy Makkah Haram in order to facilitate the service of the pilgrims and these performing Omrah, and make their stay in the holy places comfortable and pleasant.
