In this research we have investigated the role of the ciliated species of the three subfamilies Parameciidae, Loxocephalidae and Urocentridae of the order Hymenostomatida as biological indicators of water quality, through the study of the vulnerability of the abundance of these species by abiotic environmental factors surrounding them.
Whereas we have classificated the ciliated species and detected their abundance in the river Quaiq locality for one year, and on the other side we have measured the concentrations of many abiotic factors and elements of 12 water samples (once every month).
Among these we have measured the Temperatures, pH, Oxygen Demand (OD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen
