English Abstract

Due to limited area of Gaza Strip, and lack of available areas to stockpile the huge quantities of demolition debris which generated from Israel's war on Gaza in 2014.

Thus, this research deals with these materials in order to reduce environmental and health damages.

In addition to lack of natural resources in Gaza Strip due to the geological nature of the sector.

Moreover, the Israeli siege that prevents entering granular materials from the West Bank.

Several trial mixes were used in order to study the mechanical properties of crushed aggregate mixtures produced from demolished buildings debris throughout mixing of these materials with different percentages (30%,40%&50%) of conventional base course material, (10%,20%,25% &30%) of crushed sand material and (5% &10%) of clay material.

The required tests have been conducted during this research according to AASHTO requirements are: Sieve Analysis, CBR, Specific gravity & Absorption, Atterberg limits, Los Angeles abrasion, Proctor test and Sand Equivalent.

Based on the experimental results obtained, it is found that; mixing 50% of conventional base course material with 50% of demolition crushed aggregate, also mixing 25 % of crushed sand with 75% of demolition crushed aggregate and mixing 5% of clay material with 95% of demolition crushed aggregate give good results and meet AASHTO requirements.

So it can be effectively used as a road materials in different layers.
