Abstract EN

The Syrian Revolution began mid-March 2011 as a peaceful revolution demanding freedom however it quickly turned into armed revolution under pressure from the regime that intended since the launch of the first demonstration to confront people with shooting murdering and torturing .

The Syrian regime has attempted to discredit the revolution by accusing it of terrorism however the regime failed to promote this propaganda as the revolutionaries used modern means of communication to refute these claims.

This led the regime to move to more practical steps releasing hundreds of detainees who are described as having hard-line ideology to support Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham known as ISIS which was evidenced by documents obtained by the German newspaper Der Spiegel this year.

Those released individuals succeeded in communicating with their “Ideological brothers” in Iraq utilizing their expertise money arms and men at the beginning.

They established what was known as "Al-Nusra Front" proclaiming Abu Muhammad al- Julani as its leader.

Adding this organization to the Syrian situation is considered a skillful act by the Syrian regime and its regional allies.

This allowed the regime to weaken the revolutionaries distract their efforts gain the time it needs to breathe and weaken the people attempting to deprive the revolutionaries from the popular support that was the cause of their persistence until this moment.

In addition this derails the world's attention towards the war on terrorism at the expense of the local tragedy.

However the revolutionaries were able to absorb some of the adverse effects of the emergence of this organization turning them into strengths and if we add to this the popular rejection of radical ideology and the people’s embrace of moderate Islamic thought it would be concluded that the potential survival of ISIS and its persistence in governing the areas it controlled so far is very unlikely which indicates the lack of any future for the organization if its direct support stops
