The Present Digital media, through convergence, which allowed for providing powerful communication technology, made globalization a fact .

The Internet and the smart phones empowered the ordinary citizen to become a participant, rather than a passive recipient.

The new Digital Communication Revolution, (the fourth in history following the Alphabet, the Printing Press, and the Electronic Revolutions) permitted multinational media and advertising corporations, stationed mainly in the Center, to market, with the help of World Trade Organization policies, their products in marginal countries, in a manner that favors Electronic Colonialism, and encourage consumerism.

On the other hand, the presnt media revolution helped create an Arab Spring.

Thus the main question this paper tackles is: what is the nature of the present media climate in Arab Countries, and what are the challenges that face its economic growth which the media should shoulder.

The paper ends with presenting 14 such challenges..
