ارتباط الرسائل الفورية (IM)‎ المتبادلة بين معلمي التربية الفنية عبر تطبيق الواتساب بتخصصهم : دراسة تحليلية

Abstract EN

This study was conducted to explore the nature and themes of instant messaging (IM) exchanged amongst art teachers via WhatsApp application and the pertinence of such messages to the major of those teachers.

1638 messages were recorded and analyzed.

Findings revealed that the nature of these messages was mostly for entertainment, religious, social networking, educational, political and artistic purposes.

Results also indicated that entertaining messages were ranked first, followed respectively by religious, educational, social, political and artistic messages.

Concerning the nature of messages, results showed that the frequency of text messages took the lead, followed respectively by video clips, images and audio clips.

Findings also revealed that the time between eight in the morning and half past two in the afternoon came first in terms of the number of exchanged messages.

Seemingly, no connection was found between the nature of messages and the specialty of art.

The paper recommends further studies to be conducted in order to determine potential benefits of instant messages for the purpose of schoolwork and artwork creation.
