Abstract EN

Alienation is as ancient as humanity; it is a human phenomenon which exists in every human society and it may occur to any member of every society but with various degrees due to the different conditions which lead to alienation as well as the different personal characteristics of each individual.

Thus, this study will examine this phenomenon with regards to two Abbasid princes and poets (Ibn Al-Mu'tazz AlAbbasi and Abu Firas al-Hamdani) in order to recognize the degree of difference and similarity between both poets in terms of the existence of this phenomenon in their poetic experience; particularly as they lived in similar circumstances, as being from the governing authority, and sooner their conditions changed as a result of the conflict over authority.
