Abstract EN

This study aimed at determination the science teachers' beliefs in UNRWA schools about the nature of science.

The subjects of the study consist of (61) science teachers, were chosen from the UNRWA schools in Jordan.

The study used a scale which consists of 36 items included the teachers' beliefs about the nature of science.

The findings revealed the followings.

-Scientific teachers have relatively high beliefs about nature of science, with the following rank (observation and inferring, scientific laws and theories, nature of scientific knowledge, experimenting and social & cultural influences in the knowledge, creativity role in knowledge formation).

-There were significant differences (α=0.05) in teachers' beliefs with respect to gender in favor of female teachers.

Accordingly, the researcher recommended enhancing nature of science and beliefs about it among teachers and tackling further researches in this field.
