This study shows the sincere efforts of ancient and modern Arab linguists to solve the problem of writing the letter “ Hamza “ It reflects the different trends of transcription and its great effect in “ The Holy Qur-an “ writing .

The study notices that the Arabic language nowadays tends to stress the “ Hamza “ rather than unstress .

It also makes it clear that writing of the “ Hamza “ without abridge does not mean the rejection of the sign “ ¡ " but remains as asign for it.
