Improving the performance of cutting tools is one of major interests of researchers.
It is essential to increase the performance and lifetime of cutting tools by the reduction of the wear rate during machining.
Tungsten carbide as a cutting tool was developed by adding layers such as TiN/TiC/TiAlN/TiCN to increase the performance and lifetime of the cutting tools.
In this work, the properties of TiAlC layers deposited on WC/Co substrate was evaluated by scratch test, collocate wear test, impact test and hardness measurement.
The characterization of TiAlC layers deposited on WC substrate was investigated at different percentages of C2H2 as a reactive gas.
