Abstract EN

Calculation of effective multiplication factor (keff) value and power distribution is a very important task for fuel assembly design and whole core safety analysis.

In this work, used deterministic method used with CITVAP v3.1 code , which is based on the diffusion theory with finite difference method, to assess the accuracy of keff calculation and power distribution of the IAEA 3-D PWR benchmark problem.

The study of power maps achieve on fuel assembly-by-assembly level.

The code results for keff value and power map distribution are compared with reference values.

The results demonstrate that the CITVAP v3.1 codes showed good estimates of both keff value and power distribution for the critical core benchmark provided adequate number of meshes is chosen per each assembly.
