Abstract EN
Gamma transmission and the parameters which affect the processes attenuation coefficients, mean free path, atomic cross sections, effective atomic numbers and electron densities are studied for some transparent glass using Gamma spectroscopy.
A comparison between experimental and theoretical values has been done, where both results are found to be in good agreement.
The inverse relation between energy and attenuation coefficients as well as cross section were emphasized.
In the energy range (356 KeV – 1332.5 KeV) the effective atomic numbers showed a nearly constant behavior with energy.
Finally it can be stated that the studied glass appeared to be a good attenuating material.
