Abstract EN

This study aims at discussing the theory of value according to Ibn Khaldun, compared with the theory of value according to the traditional economical thought.

This study shows that Ibn Khaldun has explored most of the determinants of value discussed later, including: the work effort, production costs, benefits, and down to market mechanism which results from the relationship between supply and demand through discussing the most determinants of supply and demand.

Ibn Khaldun is the only one who dealt with some of the determinants that affect the value; such as the Sultan-trade, the ethics of traders, and pests.

These concepts haven't been set in the form of a clear theory, but they came as single concepts in the context of the study of sociology and politics.

It hasn't been proved that the ideas of Ibn Khaldun affect the value in the achievements of the scholars of the traditional economy, but he retains the initiative in dealing with the ideas of the theory of value, which can be justified by the historical difference between the different parties.
