The study aimed at investigating the role of Queen Rania Al Abdallah Award for Distinguished Teacher in developing the educational performance of teachers in North West Badia Directorate of Education.

The population of this study consists of all male and female teachers who participated in the award training in the years from 2006 – 2012 in West North Badia directorate of education; the total number of participants was 248 teachers.

Ninety male and female teachers were randomly selected in this study to represent a percent of 36% of the total population.

The researchers used a questionnaire to gather data, it consists of 74 items that cover nine domains; personal philosophy, teaching effectiveness, resources management, relationships with parents and local community, career ethics, innovation and invention, evaluation and achievements and outcomes.

Validity and reliability had been checked for the instrument and they were acceptable for the purposes of this study.

Findings revealed that there was an effect for the award in all dimensions.

Career ethics dimension was the highest ranked one, followed by the personal philosophy dimension.

Findings also reveal that there were statistically significant differences in teaching performance that can be attributed to gender in favor of male teachers, while , there were no statistically significant differences in teaching performance that can be attributed to qualifications, years of experience and to the number of participation in the award.

According to the findings, the researchers recommend developing community involvement and increasing the number of awarded teachers.
