Financing house purchase in the west : buying a house in Europe

Asalamou Alaikoum, I know that Riba is Haram, but in European countries, Imams said that you can for example buy a house with Riba for personal use that means when you buy a house, you cannot rent a part of your house (apartment)... Jazak Allah.
