Prohibition of Riba and its rationale : is there any bank interest that is Halal ?
Fatawa Question
What kind of Bank interest is considered Haram in Islam. I have heard a lot on this issue, but would like to know some details. My old parents are week and feeble and in Pakistan where businesses are very volatile and demanding, they have a few bank deposits which earn them minor monthly interests to run their daily routine. They cannot work. Is this permissible ? Notes : not a forced interest. I see all Islamic Banks charging interest when you buy something from them in the name of markup etc. Please advise. Thanks.
