Interest loans to buy other goods : buying furniture on interest, is repentance sufficient ?
Fatawa Question
Assalamu Alaikum, I took a loan from a bank to buy some furniture. I feel so bad because I did not realize by then that I am contributing to a "Riba". I still have about 3 years to pay off the remaining amount and I promised myself not to borrow any money any more from banks. What shall I do ? is "Tobah" enough and what shall I do with the remaining dues I owe the bank. Secondly, I was living in a non Muslim country and used to use credit cards. I had to leave that country before paying off the rest of money which I still owe them. Financially wise I cannot afford paying the rest of the money which I still owe. So what shall I do ? Jazakom Allah Kol Khair
