Can we provide brokerage services for a non Shariah compliant activity ?
Fatawa Question
We run a business and provide broking services online for home cooks and buyers of food and take x % commission for each successful transaction. Unfortunately there are some buyers and sellers who buy and sell meals containing non Halal meat, pork, and in rare cases, alcohol. We receive a commission on these orders also. Process the following 1. take payment from the buyer, 2. pass the order onto the seller and 3. pass the payment onto the seller (less the commission). Is this permissible for us to do ?
