دراسة نسجية لتأثر المستخلص الفينولي لأزهار نبات زهرة الجمال-Hibiscus rosa sinensis L. في الأعضاء التناسلية الملحقة لذكور الجرذان البيض

Abstract EN

The present study was conducted to evaluate the antifertility effect of phenolic flower extract of Hibiscus rosa –sinensis L.

at the dose level of 300 mg/rat/day on sex accessory organs of male rats and find out the potential of the use of this plant extract as a male contraceptive .For this, histological examinations were carried out to assess the effect of H.rosa sinensis.

Experiment included Twenty four male albino rat that where divided into tow groups ,12 animal for each group .

the first group were treated with concentration of 300 mg/kg of phenolic flower extract of Hibiscus rosa –sinensis for 60 day orally .

The seconed group was the control which treated with normal saline solution .

The result showed Disorganization of epithelial layer of cauda epididymis and reduced concentration of secretory fluid in tissue of seminal vesicle and in prostate.

Significant reduction (p<0.001) in the diameter rate and thickness of epithelial layer lining cauda epididymis could also be seen.

Significant reduction (p<0.001) in rate of length of muscosal folds and thickness of muscle layers in the seminal vesicle was observed .

the result show significant reduction (p<0.001) in The high epithelium and diameter rate of alveoli of the prostate in the treated group compared with control group .

We conclude that the phenolic flower extract of Hibiscus rosa –sinensis L.

affects the sex accessory organs of male rats suggesting potential effectiveness as a means of contraception in males.
