English Abstract
Solar energy is becoming an alternative energy source for the limited ,expensive and not cleaned fossil fuel resources.
One of the simplest and most direct applications of this energy is the conversion of solar radiation into heat, which can be used in water heating systems.
A commonly used solar collector is the flat plate solar collector .
There are many disadvantages for flat plate solar collector , the most important two disadvantages are low efficiency and high cost .
The main objective of this work is to carry out a comparative studies for maximizing the efficiency of flat plate solar collector with low cost .
In this work a comparative studies were carried out for maximizing the efficiency of flat plate solar collector with low cost , an attempts were also carried out to calculate the high efficient flat plate solar collector with low cost , in this research many types of conventional flat plate solar were studied , efficiency and cost of absorber plate and cover of flat plate solar collectors are calculated depending on the absorber factor of the absorber plate and transmittance factor of the cover by using Microsoft excel , then final results of high efficient flat plate solar collector with low cost were suggested and described .
The work results indicated that high efficient flat plate solar collector with low cost could be consist of aluminum and copper absorbing plate which connected with copper or steel pipes to enhance solar energy absorption, Placed on fiberglass insulation , Encased in a copper or galvanized steel frame, and topped with low content of ferro oxide glazed cover .
