Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to investigate Dukhan use by Sudanese women as risk factor for breast cancer.

The study was carried out in National Cancer Institute in Wad Medani capital of Gezira State, Central Sudan.

One hundred patients with breast cancer and 100 controls were enrolled in this study.

Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and from review of medical records.

Women use Talih (Acacia seyal) in Dukhan on daily basis, more than one hour, for more than twenty years were found to have large size of tumor (44% more than one hour-77.8% daily-56% more than twenty years), more distance metastasis (47.1%% more than one hour-50% daily72.2% more than twenty years) and more in stage 4 (47.1% more than one hour-58,9% daily82.3% more than twenty years).The use of Dukhan by Sudanese women seems to be risk factor for breast cancer
