Abstract EN

This study aimed at introducing the methods of making molding casts and copying of ancient archeological relics.

The study started with examining the stages and phases of this process and determining the problems that face the process of molding, casting and copying archeological relics in Sudan.

The descriptive-analytical method of research was adopted to look into the problem of the research while the applied method was used in the making of casting molds and the selected sculptural models in application of proposed solutions for some of the problems faced.

The study instruments included observation and interviews and the area of study was chosen to be sculpture and casting molds making for archeological found.

The study was conducted at the College of Fine and Applied Art, Department of Sculpture in the year 2015.

The work included making decorative sculptural models and making molds for the chosen models using traditional sculpture tools in addition to some modern material.

The study arrived at innovative solutions and easy, efficient, quick, accurate and cost-effective methods for making proposed molds archeological relicsbe sculpture and casting molds making conducted at the College of Fine and Applied Art, Department of Sculpture in the year 2015.

The study arrived at innovative solutions and easy, efficient, quick, accurate and cost-effective methods for making proposed molds The recommendations proposed by the study include the importance of putting in place of a scientific approach for the making and manufacturing of casting molds, together with carefully studying the chemical and physical characteristics of material used in the making of the proposed casting molds and copying.
