English Abstract
This research aims at investigating religious rhetoric of His Majesty King Abdullah II speech at the plenary session of the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations on 28th / Sept / 2015.
It includes a corpus of 1363 words on 3 pages involving one of His majesty political speeches.
The speech was selected purposefully and non-randomly.
This study involves one research instrument that is a textual analysis based on Burke's (1970) Theory of the Rhetoric of Religion.
This qualitative and quantitative study includes four chapters.
The findings indicated that the use of religious imagery and rhetoric is a very significant and essential component in political speeches making at discourse level particularly as a persuasive strategy at both the national and international levels.
This research recommends that further research be conducted to investigate other types of speeches.
