Abstract EN

Contingency analysis (CA) is very critical for proper operation and planning for power system networks.

This paper discussed CA of a section the national grid of Sudan (NGS) with 77-bus.

Line and unit outages simulation method was used, which is more effective than the traditional methods because it is simple and accurate.

The study was done on NGS during heavy load with optimum compensation.

The results revealed the presence of three contingencies which caused transmission lines overload and bus bars under voltages cases.
