Abstract EN

The electrical energy is affected by the weather and the climate changes.

The heat is considered the most important element of the climate which affect consumption of electricity.

Therefore, there is an obvious relation between temperatures and the electrical request of energy .

So when the temperature surrounding us is more or less than the comfortable levels, the request of energy increases and this due to the use of energy for purposes of heating and cooling.

Consumption of electricity in the city of Riyadh during the year differs from season to another and from month to another.

Also , it differs during the hours of the same day and between night and day.

In Riyadh the request of electrical energy reached to high averages which similar to some rates in some industrial countries .

This causes a huge increase in the culminant loads especially in summer.

The aim of our research is to show the relationship between the temperature and consumption of electricity .

It shows also importance of this relationship by making studies about the difference of daily , monthly and seasonally consumption of electrical energy and its relationship with temperatures .

Actually, the of results of our research derived from statements of real loads and temperatures from the Saudi Unified Company of Electricity in Central Region from 1999–2005 AD and the statements categorized and treated statistically through the use of program SPSS and represented in diagrams to understand the relationship between temperature and consumption of energy.

In conclusion, there are other effects on consumption of electricity by increasing or decreasing specially during the days of vacations or at the end of the year.

Also, it is affected by blowing of hot or cold winds .

This was shown by analysis but the effect of heat is still the strong element and this was shown in the relation between consumption and temperate
