Abstract EN
The relapsing polychondritis (RPC) is a rare connective tissue inflammation.
Auricular chondritis is one of the manifestations of the RPC.
Often, it is a misunderstood disease.
We report a 37-year –old of polychondritis case who consulted us for a recurrent swelling of the two pavilions, during the last six months.
This was very painful swelling associated with local inflammatory signs.
The patient was treated with several types of antibiotics without any improvement.
Examination of the left flag found a red swelling, sparing no cartilaginous ear lobe.
Laboratory tests showed an inflammatory syndrome.
The diagnosis of polychondritis was mentioned.
He received High- dose of corticosteroid therapy with good evolution.
Diagnosis of RPC is clinical.
Corticosteroid therapy is a cornerstone in the treatment.
