Abstract EN

This research discusses the role of facilities management in coordinating between the different partners of development and the upgrading slums areas, and the active contribution in placing upgrading plans and strategies through analytical studies of the current situation, government trends in the upgrading process, and forming various task teams.

These teams will operate the various upgrading programs, such as : Educating, training and rehabilitating the community program, urban development program, preserving the environment and the sustainability program, services developing and improving program, and homes improving program.

This research studied the current situation of the Al-Sehaifah district as a model of slums areas which can be upgraded through the proposed programs.

Also it included a vision of the proposed strategy to implement the upgrading program by it.

This vision has been put in the form of a model which can be applied on different slums areas, by different implementation mechanisms which may vary from one area to another depending on the actual needs of the different areas.
