Abstract EN

The study revealed that the highest density of larvae of thrips tabaci was 293.06 Larvae / plant during the third week of march .The least density was 0.52 larvae / plant during the first week of December .The highest density of adult was 19.22 adults / plant during the first week of April .

The pest was recorded on 26 plant hosts Viz, A.cepa, A.sativum,A.

porrum,C.sativu, Gussypium , Vicia faba , Solanum melongena, Capsicum annum, Brassica eleraea, B.

caulorapa, Lactuca sativ , Hordeum valgar, Anethum graveolens, Aplum groveoleus, Medicago sativa L Ocimum basilicum, Calendula persica, Chrysanth carintum, Tagetes patula , Melilotus indica , Lotus corniculatus, Alorupus lagopooides, Polypogon monspliensis, Polygonum aviculare, Aster tripolium,and Cynanchum acutum.

The result indicated in case of chemical control in the lab that there were significant differences among insecticides.The highest mortality rates among larva were showed by Aster and Actara 86.40 and 85.06 %respectively.

Those of adult were 84.51 and 83.56 % respectively which differd significantly from other insecticides abamectin, Oxymatrine, Fytomax, growth promoter Freek and Match and biological pesticides Bacillus thurienginsis Var.

Kurstaki .

The field experiment showed that Aster and Actara were better in controlling the insect.

The mortality of Aster were 61.72 % and 58.42 % for larva and adult respectively.

The corspondence values of Actara were 59.67 %and 57.73 % for larvae and adult respectively.

Other insecticides had very limited effect.
