English Abstract

The microstrip antenna suffers from some serious drawbacks like narrow frequency bandwidth and low efficiency, the performance of microstrip antenna elements and arrays have been constantly enhanced through the years.

Many different forms of microstrip antennas have been developed over the years and in this thesis, a new compact of Concentric Circular Microstrip Antennas (CCMSA) have been analyzed.

The aim of this thesis is to propose an antenna developer CCMSA and studies its characteristic.

The proposed antenna consists of a number of different concentric circular dielectric substrates (multi-layers) to improve the characteristics of the antennas.

In this thesis, 3 layers of the concentric circular microstrip antenna has been analyzed theoretically through computer simulations.

Detailed characteristics of this type of CCMSA are presented, including their advantages, disadvantages and individual radiation characteristics.

The full-wave model has been adopted in the analysis, which is based on Green's function and method of moment together with Galerkin technique.

The characteristics of the CCMSA are obtained in terms of far field and excited by an electric dipole have been theoretically investigated.

This theoretical study iii Abstract included the emitted radiation fields, directive gain and bandwidth, where the treatment of electromagnetic radiation problem was based on electrical conductor and dielectric as bodies of revolution (BoR) applications.

The radiation patterns were calculated in order to compare and prove the mathematical analysis and programming, where the results compared with the conventional one layer of the circular microstrip antennas (CMSA).

Our results were in good agreement with the results, published by other researchers.

The results of proposed such new multi-layer (3-layers) antenna refers to the increase in PBW (19.5%) and directive gain (13.46 dB
