Abstract EN

This study aims at shedding light on the beginning of political currents formation at the Abbasid state, and its role in mandate of the Covenant.

AL-Baramka and AL-Khayzuran current formed at that time Persian current against Arab current which was chaired by AL-Fadl Bin AL-Rabe'a, and Zubaydah (AL-Rasheed's wife).

The mandate of the Covenant was a field for political competition between the two currents, this competition began its features to appear at Caliph Al-Hadi era (169-170H/785-786AD), when Yahya Al-Barmaki and AL-Khayzuran stand against appointment of Ja'far Bin AL-Hadi as crown prince when Al-Hadi forced his brother AL-Rasheed to resign from the mandate of the Covenant.

When AL-Rasheed became as a caliph 170H/786AD, after the death of his brother Al-Hadi in mysterious circumstances, he made Yahya Al-Barmaki and his sons near from him, and his mother (AL-Khayzuran) as well, they played a prominent role in the political life generally, in the mandate of the Covenant particularly, which was a field for political competition between the two currents; Persian and Arab.
