دراسة سريرية للحالة حول السنية عند مرضى الديلزة مقارنة مع مرضى الديلزة المصابين بالتهاب الكبد الإنتاني (B, C)‎

Abstract EN

Background and Objective :Chronic renal failure (CRF) patients are treated with hemodialysis as one of the renal replacement treatments.

They can be affected by viral hepatitis (B,C) .

The periodontal statues in CRF patients are poor and if they had viral hepatitis (B,C) , that would made it worse .

The aim of this study was to evaluate the periodontal status in viral hepatitis (B , C) patients undergoing hemodialysis .

Methods :The retrospective study performed on 31 patients undergoing hemodialysis.

The age ranged between (15–75) years old (mean age 46.7±13.5).

They subject divided to :test group included 15 patients having viral hepatitis (B,C) and group included 16 patients undergoing hemodialysis .Plaque index PI, Gingival index GI, Bleeding on Probing BOP, Probing Depth PD, Gingival Recession GR, and Clinical Attachment Loss CAL were recorded in both groups before dialysis.

We usesd T student test (P<0.05) to study the statistical differences between groups .

Results: There was no statistically significant differences in PI between both groups (P>0.05) .

The GI and BOP were higher in test group than control group (P<0.05) .

No statistically significant differences were observed in GR , PD , and CAL between both groups (P>0.05).

Conclusion: This study refers to increase in gingival inflammation and bleeding in patients having viral hepatitis (B,C) and undergoing hemodialysis .

That means the viral hepatitis made the gingival statues worse in hemodialysis patients without effecting the periodontal statuse
