Abstract EN
The idea this paper is to investigate a Multi Point Clamped (MPC) multilevel inverter fe d Direct Torque Control (DTC) fo r Induction Motor (IM) drive.
In this, 2-level, 3-level and 5-level inverter based DTC fe d induction motor drive using modified inherent fractal structure space vector modulation is presented.
For inherent fractal structure SVM technique has 125 space vector switching states are possible, but in modified inherent fractal structure SVM ,the switching states are reduced to 61.The proposed DTC IM drive is capable to control both electromagnetic torque and stator flux with very low ripple with high degrees o f freedom.
As the number o f levels increased the Total harmonic distortion (THD) in the motor line voltage decreases.
Besides, as the number o f levels increased the torque ripple is reduced to minimum and the stator flux ripple is also minimized.
This paper, proposes high dynamic performance, good stability and precision in a multi-level inverter fe d DTC IM drive.
