Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate self-awareness in confrontation and hegemony discourse in Saudi women's contemporary novel through reading on a novel which entitled “Sons and Blood” by Lemia Majid Bin Saud.

The discourse of confrontation and hegemony in this novel appeared to insist on hearing the voice of the ego, rejecting a stereotyped image of woman in the society, which sees her as being weak and emotional, as woman, see it.

The study indicated that this novel, through this discourse, tended to embody women's awareness, which manifests in their attempt to change that stereotyped image and present themselves in a new different way.

The discourse in this novel was based on Dialectics evasive sought to strip the man of the concepts of power, rationality and integrity and attach them to the female and at the same time reverse the concepts of feminism in the collective memory of Arab community such as weakness, emotionalism and opportunism and attach them to the man.
