Abstract EN

The study aimed to: - Understand the relationship between the degree Self-confidence and its relationship to the emotional response characteristics among the players of the first teams in the Iraqi premier league in basketball for the season (2013-2014) - Understand the relationship between the degree Self-confidence and its relationship to the emotional response characteristics among the players of the last teams in the Iraqi premier league in basketball for the season (2013-2014) The researcher used the descriptive approach with the survey method due to its suitability to solve the problem.

The researcher chose the research sample intentionally form the players of basketball, who were participating in the Iraqi premier league matches for the season (2013-2014); the researcher chose 32 players distributed evenly on the first position clubs (Duhok, and South Oil Sports club), and the last position clubs (Sulaikh club, and Almeena club) in the league.

This sample represented 26.67% out of the research population, which consisted of 120 players.

The researcher found out that: - The results of the first position players (Duhok, and South Oil) were better than the results of the last positions (Sulaik and AlMeena) in the measurement of self-confidence.

- The results of the first position players (Duhok, and South Oil) were better than the results of the last positions (Sulaik and AlMeena) in the characteristics of emotional response.

- The relationship of self-confidence to all the characteristics of emotional response among the players of the first positions was significant.

- The relationship of self-confidence to the characteristics of emotional response among the players of the last position was insignificant except for the two characteristics (self-confidence and responsibility).
