Abstract EN
The study aimed to identify the impact of using the solo method in learning the skill of serving with a jump in volleyball.
The researcher used the experimental approach due to its suitability to the nature of the research and the problem.
The research population was represented by the students of the second academic level in the faculty of physical education and sports science- Karbala University, for the academic year (2014-2015), who were 95 students divided into three groups (A,B,C).
The research sample was randomly selected by lot from the people (A, B) of (24) students divided into two groups and by (12) students per group.
the experimental group was used, which was represented in the group (A) (solo method), while the control group was used and represented by the group (B) (the adopted method - order) as the researcher used the appropriate tools and means.
After conducting the pre-test, the sample started implementing the approach units which took (4 weeks) and by two units a week.
The time of each educational unit was (90 / min) and after the implementation of educational units was finished with applying the solo method on the experimental group, the researcher conducted a post-test and extracted data, which was statistically processed and then presented ,analyzed and discussed, upon which the researcher concluded that there were no significant differences in the results of the two tests (the pretest and the posttest) for the two groups.
It was also found that there were differences in the post test results for the experimental group (solo method).
In the light of the findings, the researcher recommended the need to adopt the solo method to learn other skills, which are characterized by a degree of difficulty.
