The paper, using the descriptive approach that is supported by the historical approach, addresses the stylistic links in the media discourse between originality and contemporaneousness.

The paper defined linkage, its types and objectives and aimed at demonstrating the aspects of modernization in achieving the media message.

The paper came up with a number of results, important of which included that there was a development in the meaning of linking tools and words in the modern press language.

This development, as the paper indicated, occurred according to the discretion of the journalists without any standards set forth by a linguistic body.

The paper also warned about the impacts of this in the integrity of the Arabic sentence structure and further advised to double efforts to improve the press style, encouraging journalists to follow the proper language principles and standards in their writings and to work towards preserving and developing the language.
