English Abstract

The difficulty of building a secure network is due to the changing nature of the enterprise coupled with the increasing sophistication of the hacker threat, both from inside and outside of the network.

Traditional data networks passively transport bits from one end system to another.

The role of computation within such networks is extremely limited, which is a problem of current time.

Active Networks (AN) break with tradition by allowing the network to perform customized computations on the user data.

The proposed system is to build Local Area Network (LAN), use principles’ of Active Network by make it work continuously on job (the job will move to another active node and continue processing).

There are several tools used to secure the Active Network.

The proposed system depends on the basic concepts (authentication and authorization) and uses RSA (Rivest, Shamir, Adleman) encryption algorithm to add an additional level of security.

The proposed system also depends on active packet architecture, active node will represent the packet as input, and when the packet is transmitted to another active node it carries information about each node it visited.

The result of execution of the packet will be displayed in the first node where the packet is to be.

The proposed system is implemented using Visual Basic Version 6 Programming Language.

It is tested on Local Area Network and its operation gave good results.
