English Abstract

In this work we report the dielectric properties of samples made of mainly gelatin and water with Multi wall Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) additives to study microwaves thermal heating effect.

The thermal heating effect was studied for samples with MWCNTs of concentrations by weight of 0%, 0.05%, 0.10%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.4 and 0.6%.

The dielectric measurements showed that the samples are homogenous and the MWCNTs are dispersed well for most samples.

The microwave thermal heating effect due the application of 3GHz frequency was investigated where the increase in temperature was recorded with time for each concentration.

The relaxation times related to orientation processes are obtained using a four pole Debye relation.

The study showed that MWCNTs are more connected to water (bound and free) in the samples than to Gelatin.
