English Abstract

-The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate the critical success factors of construction projects in Jordan which can help project parties reach their intended goals with greater efficiency, then to classify them to categories and evaluate each category importance .

Data was collected and evaluated by statistical methods, and then a relative importance index has been used to determine the relative importance of the factors categories.

A one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) has been used to examine how the groups evaluated the importance of the critical success factors.

A 63 factors collected from literature and previous research was classified to 8 groups then a survey with these critical success factors was distributed among to 100 respondents , based on 75 returned questionnaire the results including 16 critical success factors with the highest ranking that were leadership skills for project manager, information coordination between owner and project parties, speed and reliability of service to owner, planned time for project construction, average delay in payment from owner to contractor, availability of resources as planned through project duration, average delay because of materials shortage, time needed to rectify defects, cash flow of project, material and equipment cost, liquidity of organization, profit rate of project, conformance to specifications, availability of personals with high experience and qualifications, quality of equipment and raw materials in projects, and absenteeism rate through project.

These factors related to 5 effective categories which they are clients’ satisfaction, time, cost, quality, and productivity related factors.

The results also conducts that the other three categories with their related factors didn’t have effective influence on construction project success and they were the community satisfaction, safety , and environmental related factor.

The study result was hosted on the internet as a web page by using HTML language and provided with suggested advised for each categories factors and these were used to get feedback from managers and expert to improve continuously.

Finally the research came with these suggested advises as techniques which could minimize failure and obtain success efficiently for each categories factors to the different parties of the construction project.
