Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to find out the relationship between anthropometric measurements and physical factors among youth in Saudi Arabia.

A sample of obese youth (age 21.67, BMI 27.

17, with a fat ratio of 29.29%), and non-obese (age 21.36, BMI 19.98, with a fat ratio 13.70%) was included in the study.

The physiological cardio-pulmonary functions have been measured using a stress-test until up to fatigue level.

The results showed that the Vo2 max consuming ratio to the body mass (milliliter/ k.min), and to the fat ratio of the body mass were in favor to the non-obese youth at (P<0.05).

Whereasthere was no significant differences between obese and non-obese youth when the Vo2 max has been measured in relation to -the non-fat body mass.

The Oxygen pulse rate was more higher among obese youth compared with non-obese peers (P<0.05), but these differences have disappeared when this rate calculated with the body mass.The step-wise regression analysis showed that the best variables could predict of Vo2max for the obese youth is the BMI with ratio of (39%) and for the non-obese is the skin fold at the calf muscle with effect ratio of (9.1%) , and the best variable for predication of the threshold for the obese sample is BMI, and skin fold at the triceps muscle with effect ratio of (37.6%, and 13.4%) respectively, and for the non-obese is the skin fold under the scapula with effective ratio (14.2%).The results also showed that the best variables for prediction of O2 pulse for the obese with effective ratio (19.5%) and for the non-obese is the body masswith ratio (63.9).
