Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of low back pain and its relationship to obesity in a sample of students from the University of Balqa Applied in Jordan.

The sample consisted of (292) students, 148 males and 144 females.

Weight and height were measured and BMI was calculated to determine the obesity.

A specially designed questionnaire was used to obtain some lifestyle indicators and occurrence of back pain.

The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level between male and female students in the body mass index (P<0.01).The findings revealed that lifestyle factors such as practicing physical activity, watching television and using internet have a significant association with low back pain.
