Abstract EN

The main objective of the study was to investigate the extent of interest of the Sudanese construction companies in the safety applications such as safety statistics of occupational accident,، accident records, records of safety program, safety inspections, training and orienting of workers and safety meetings.

A questionnaire was distributed to construction companies and then collected and analyzed.

The most significant results of the study were the poor commitment of the companies to safety program, there was no safety monitoring of construction sites, there were no records of accidents in construction companies.

The most important recommendations of the Study were that the contractor should be selected on the basis of his safety record, the preparation of a separate law concerned with the application of occupational safety, development of standard specifications for safety on the model of international standards.
