English Abstract

In this work, samples of dye Kiton Red (KR) dissolved in ethanol and doped PMMA polymer in the liquid phase have been prepared.

Capillary tubes with different diameter with U-shaped have been fabricated as a cavity to measure and study the absorption and laser induced fluorescence spectra of this dye.

For the dye solution samples, it has been found that the absorption spectra of Kiton red dye solution tend to be red shifted with the increasing of the dye concentration and this attributed to solvent effect.

The effect of capillary tube diameter on the absorption and fluorescence spectra of KR solution and KR doped with PMMA polymer solution was studied too.

Also the effect of capillary tube diameter on the lifetime and fluorescence quantum yield was studied.

It was found that the low concentration 10-7 M can be measured in capillary tube with 100μm, and the diameter of capillary tube effect on the bandwidth at FWHM.

A comparison between absorption spectra of (KR) solution and doped PMMA polymer solutions show a blue shift of the solid solution.

It has been observed that the ''blue shift'' is clear at the 10-5 M concentration.

The dye-polymer solution measured in capillary tube had bandwidth at FWHM less than the one who measured in regular cavity
