English Abstract

This study was done on thirty two mature male local rabbits (Lepus Conicolus) divided into four groups, each group contains eight rabbits randomly.

The first group regarded as control and remain intact.

The second, third and fourth groups were subjected to a bilateral surgical operation to render them cryptorchid by putting the testes inside the abdominal cavity and suture the inguinal canal.

Second group were killed after two months from the operation, the third group were killed after four months of the operation and the fourth group were killed after six months of the operation.

Testes , mesenteric lymph nodes and lungs were the organs which were taken from each group and subjected to macroscopical and microscopical examination as well as histochemical staining to indicate the precence of alkaline phosphates enzyme in the tissue.

The following results were obtained: 1- Testicular tumor was clearly found in testes in the fourth group after six months of the operation and not found clear in second and third group after two months and four months of the operation.

2- Macroscopically the testicular tumor (seminoma) has metastasized to spermatic cord.

3- Histopathological study revealed that a.

Testicular degeneration and seminoma were found in the testes.

b.

Histopathological study revealed reactive hyperplasia in mesenteric lymph node examined.

c.

Sequmous cell carcinoma was also found in pulmonary tissue which has macroscopic tumourous lesions.

4- Histochemical study revealed marked alkaline phosphatase deposition in the interstitial tissue of cryptorchid testes rather than normal testes.
