تأثير درجات الحرارة و نوع الغذاء على فقس القواقع (Lamarck,1822)‎ Pomacea canaliculata و نموها مختبريا

Abstract EN

The aim of the study was to determine the embryonic development duration, hatching percentages under different temperatures, and type of foods on the growth of newly hatching snails Pomacea canaliculata (Lamarck, 1822) and there survival percentages.

The results showed that 25°c is optimal temperature for getting a high percentage of hatching and a short period of embryonic development by using five types of food (fresh celery, fresh lettuce, fish food, animal protein and mixed food) and their effect on growth of newly hatching snails for (9 weeks).

The result shown that the mean weight, length and width of snails were depending on the food type.

The mixed food give significant increase for both of weight, length and width (382.1 mg weight, 10.10mm length and7.58mm width respectively) compared with the other types of food.

The highest survival percentage (95%) was recorded to the snails, which feed on celery , lettuce foods and fish food.
