It practiced a number of major European powers to exercise the fundamental and influential role in shaping international politics, which formed so prominent feature since the late nineteenth century until the beginning of the twentieth century, but the developments of the postWorld War I (1914 -1918 ) and political compromises that accompanied in light of the deteriorating economic conditions, hampered greatly that role.

And noon that the impact of the growing role of the United States and Japan and their impact is clear in the course of that war, and the nature of their policy objectives Foreign which intersected beyond.

Accordingly, the research represents an attempt to reveal the nature of the American competition - the Japanese in the Far East in the light of the Washington Naval Conference, who represented one of the most prominent stages.

Search section into three main axes, the first axis cared for Japan on the eve of the Washington conference, presenting a summary of their role in World War I and its quest to ensure gains in the Far East, holding them several treaties with relevant countries in the region.

The second axis and studied the reasons for the conference and the nature of the external and internal conditions that forced Japan to participate in it.

While the latter axis explained the results of the conference and its impact in Japan, especially after the attempt by the United States and Europe, to extract most of the gains obtained in the Far East.

It seems that Washington Naval Conference an important historical point of international relations in the Far East and the world, and the first successful step in the process of disarmament.

It was not only for Japan to participate in the conference being the major countries and meet the demands of its economic and public opinion as well as the impact of the international bloc against it.

As the United States became more role in international affairs being conceived the idea of holding the conference and its director, and succeeded in encircling Japan in the Far East after becoming (open door policy) is part of an international law of select European countries and interests of activity in the region, at a time to make way for the United states of America move in China, and rein in Japan's expansionist policy and its economic interests there.
