Abstract EN

The search focuses on the study of the relationship between the military institution and the institution of the presidency in Algeria during the era of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's rule 1999- 2014.

Moreover, the constitutional amendment which allow him to run for a fourth term leads us to wonder about the nature of that relationship.

The research deals with the assumption that the relationship between the military institution and the institution of the presidency in Algeria is a unstable and concerned one.

Both are trying to control the other in order to subject it.

This confrontation has not been resolved for the sake of any of them.

The roots of the issue extend to the pre-independence of Algeria.
