The main purpose of this study is the assessment of the Evolution of Economic Competitiveness (EEC) of 10 Arabic countries (Kuwait, Qatar, U.A.E, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan) during the period 2005-2014, using the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) published annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The assessment is based on three variables ( the Average of the GCI (AV), the Spread (SP), the Outcome of the Annual Changes (OAC) ).
The results show that although the AV of some countries is highest but their EEC is not so, such as Qatar and U.A.E.
Morocco represents the best EEC in first and Algeria in second, but Tunisia records the worse EEC.
