Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the obstacles and prospects for assuring the total quality in the general education schools in Algeria.

The research used the analytical descriptive method and was limited to some educational schools in Algeria.

The questionnaire and interview were used as data collection tools in this research.

The results have proved existence of obstacles with varying influence degrees, that reduced the quality of the general education schools in Algeria.

They have also stressed the existence of a number of success factors of varying importance.

The paper concluded to envisage the development of the educational system in Algeria via assuring the quality and using information technology
